Woodland Trust

What we do

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. We plant. Creating new woodland is at the heart of what we do. We mobilise communities, landowners, and volunteers to get trees in the ground, and aim to plant a tree for every person in the UK. We restore. Ancient woods have rich, irreplaceable ecosystems. But they’ve been damaged by non-native planting and invasive species. We work to restore them to their former glory. We protect. Standing up for trees and woods across the UK is why we’re here. We campaign to stop the irreversible destruction of ancient woodland and unnecessary loss of trees from our cities. We care. We look after 50+ woods across Northern Ireland, all just waiting for you to explore. access to our woods is free of charge and we welcome thousands of visitors each year.

Gifts in Wills

One of the most meaningful ways many of our supporters choose to help woods and trees is by remembering our work in their wills. Gifts in wills fund more than a third of everything we do for woods and trees: they are vital to the Trust. Without them we couldn’t continue to do what we do for woodland. Gifts written in wills many years ago are now making a real difference. Gifts in wills give woods, trees and wildlife a future. We completely understand that family comes first. But when loved ones have been looked after please consider leaving a gift for woods and trees by remembering the Woodland Trust in your will.
