The High Street Voucher scheme in Northern Ireland is set to give everyone over the age of 18 a pre-paid voucher of £100 for use across high street retailers and hospitality with the aim to encourage consumers back to their local high street and small businesses in order to boost those hit by the pandemic.

However, there is an option to use your Spend Local card to support your local charity.

And although the pre-paid card cannot be directly used to donate to charity, there are many ways in which those who do not need their ‘Spend Local’ voucher can benefit vulnerable people across the country.

For example by purchasing items that your favourite charity may need or shopping in their charity shops.

If you would like to use your Spend Local card to support your chosen charity, the best advice is to contact them directly to ask them what they might need.
