Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary are supporting Will to Give Week 6th – 12th November 2017, raising awareness of the importance of making a Will and how you can leave a gift to charity or charities #changethefuture.

Gifts in Wills have over the years provided an invaluable financial support for the Sanctuary and were very much connected to our new build project which ensured not only the future of the charity but of unwanted, abandoned or animals who find themselves without a secure home.

The Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary is a not-for-profit, independent registered charity which has been in existence since 1996 and concentrates its works on animal re-homing, education and relieving the distress and suffering of unwanted animals.  The charity operates a strict ‘No Kill’ policy and year on year finds new homes for approximately 1000 cats and dogs, which have been saved from possible destruction.  Prior to re-homing, and on the successful completion of a home check, all animals are vaccinated, neutered, wormed, de-flead and micro-chipped.

Gifts in Will pledges

Measures are also put in place to ensure that all animals may be returned to the safe haven of the Sanctuary should they encounter any difficulties in their new home.  This safety net is something that appeals to our supporter network where pet owners wish to have the knowledge that their pet will be looked after their death and in ensuring this they make a legacy pledge to the Sanctuary. This can sometimes be based on the Sanctuary taking their pets or when they have found their successful, forever home while at all times providing the safety net if difficulties are encountered. It means that their much loved pets will always have a home no matter what the circumstances are.

When approached by individuals who want to put their wishes in place we request that they approach their solicitor and ensure all factors are fully documented with their will.  The Sanctuary will then abide with these wishes and reflect back to whoever we are directed to within the contents of the paperwork.
