From 8th-12th  September 2025, we celebrated our annual Will to Give Week, shining a light on the incredible impact of gifts in Wills across Northern Ireland.

The week brought together charities, fundraisers, and legal professionals to share learning, build connections, and celebrate how one act of generosity can create a lasting legacy of kindness for generations to come.

Kicking off the week – Legal Professionals Event (Monday 8 September)

We began Will to Give Week by bringing together solicitors from across Northern Ireland for a special event in partnership with the Law Society of Northern Ireland and STEP NI.

The session, facilitated by Rebecca Massey (Cancer Research UK), offered valuable insights into the charity sector helping to demystify how charities manage legacies and exploring ways that legal professionals and charities can collaborate for effective probate administration.

This event also marked the launch of our new campaign, Partners in Kindness, a growing network of legal professionals who are experts in probate and who champion charitable gifts in Wills.

More details about how to get involved in Partners in Kindness will be shared soon.

Mid-week learning- Legacy Administration Workshop (Wednesday 10 September)

On Wednesday, members gathered in Belfast for a Legacy Administration Workshop, featuring guest speakers Rod Etherington and Charlotte Gamble from Marie Curie, joined by Michael Graham (Cleaver Fulton Rankin).

The session gave members an opportunity to:

  • Learn how Marie Curie manages a wide range of legacy gifts
  • Explore best practice in legacy administration
  • Ask questions and share experiences with peers

The workshop also offered valuable networking time, giving members the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration across the legacy fundraising community.

Looking ahead

Thank you to everyone who took part in Will to Give Week 2025, whether by attending an event, sharing stories or helping to promote the importance of gifts in Wills.

We are already looking forward to next year’s programme and building on the success of this year’s events.

Together, we can continue to celebrate and grow the culture of #FutureKindness across Northern Ireland.
