What we do
RSPB NI has been operating since 1966 to make Northern Ireland a better place for nature and people. We protect, restore and look after precious places for wildlife. We look after some of Northern Ireland’s most special landscapes & our nature reserves offer first hand experiences to connect people of all ages and backgrounds to the beauty and wonder of the natural world. We should all be able to have a favourite outdoor place, a forest, river, park or beach, somewhere we feel free and uplifted. From breathtaking landscapes to intimate moments with wildlife, we work to protect nature and create magical experiences for you.
We love nature — we’re passionate about wildlife and wild places. We believe the environment should be at the top of the agenda whether the subject is building houses, setting up wind farms, fishing our seas, transporting goods or educating our children. We never give up, we get things done; making changes for the better, for wildlife and people. We work in partnership with local people all over Northern Ireland, including schoolchildren, farmers, community groups and government officials.

Our work is crucial to the survival of endangered species and habitats. We work in partnership with the local farming community to secure a step change in sustainable land use practices, good for farmers, nature and communities. At the same time, we actively encourage children and families to give nature a home in gardens and parks with plants and insects to attract wildlife.
