What will you learn?

Legacies are a potentially massive source of funding, but many charities are not doing anywhere near enough to promote them to their supporters properly. Consequently, your charity could be missing out on millions of pounds of potential income.

This session will show you a simple way to talk to your charity’s supporters about legacies that could help you to transform both the level of income you get from this income stream, and potentially your organisation as a whole.  It has proved successful for a range of charities, including helping one charity increase their potential legacy income 8-fold in 5 years.

The session will include some fun, interactive discussions. Please come prepared to honestly share where your charity is at in its legacy work, as this will enable everyone to get the most value from the session.

We encourage fundraisers to bring at least one member of their board with them to the session, as this will help to inform them about the opportunities, and enable you to make a better case internally both for investment in this area and for the principle of talking to donors properly about this topic.

The session will be run by Richard Docwra, Director of ChangeStar, a fundraising and social change agency with over 16 years of experience in helping charities get unbeatable results from their fundraising work – including legacy communications.
