Will to Give is dedicating the week of 5th-11th November to encourage people to think about making their Will and perhaps consider leaving a charitable gift to your favourite cause, with our Change the Future campaign – how will you #changethefuture?

Eimear McCooey (Will to Give’s Chair) explains below why she is leaving a charitable gift in her Will to Marie Curie.

“As Legacy Advisor with Marie Curie in Northern Ireland I work with our supporters to engage and inspire them to leave a gift in their Will to Marie Curie.  So when Marie Curie offered staff the opportunity to take advantage of partnership with local solicitors to have their Will written for free I thought I better talk the talk so to speak!

It turns out that what I was saying was true, it is a very important and sensible thing to do – having an up to date Will in place is the ONLY way to ensure that your loved ones are looked after and your last wishes are honoured, and it was such a simple process!  Of course, one of the things that means to the most to me is ensuring that Marie Curie can continue to care for people with terminal illnesses well into the future, so I’ve left a small gift to the charity in my Will but I hope that they don’t receive it for many years to come!”
