What we do

We are the MS Society, and we’re here for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).

There are over 150,000 people living with MS in the UK, and more than 5,000 of those are living in Northern Ireland.

Life with MS can be tough. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. It’s often painful, exhausting and can cause problems with how we walk, move, see, think and feel. But thanks to support from kind people like you, MS research has made huge leaps forward.

Right now we’re funding over 40 projects to help improve diagnosis and treatments, along with providing a wide range of services and support in Northern Ireland to make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Our Belfast Resource Centre is a welcoming space where people affected by MS can drop in for support, services and information. Staff and volunteers are always on hand for a chat, and it’s a great place to connect with others and access practical support.

MS researchers have made ground-breaking discoveries and gained knowledge on potential ways to repair myelin and protect nerves. With new projects and clinical trials underway, there’s real momentum and hope on the horizon. We simply can’t afford to stop now, as we invest in research to help find treatments that can stop MS.

Gifts in Wills

FROM A WORLD WITH MS TO A FUTURE FREE FROM ITS EFFECTS …your will could take us there

We understand that protecting the financial future of those you love will be your priority when writing or updating your will. But over 40% of our income comes from those who decide to include a legacy gift to the MS Society. And no matter the size, it’s gifts like this that are transforming lives and making sure our children, grandchildren and future generations will live in a future free from MS.

With your support, the future is bright for people living with MS.
Let’s finish the work we’ve started and stop MS together.
