Making a Will is important because it gives you peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be respected.  It also means you can look after your loved ones, friends or favourite charity.

It’s easier than you might think. Just arrange to see a solicitor, let them know the things you own and who you would like to leave them to. In your Will you can also do important things like appoint legal guardians for your children. The cost of making a Will is usually very affordable.

1. And the good news is lots of recent evidence suggests you will feel better for having a Will in place

2. And you may even feel happier if you decide to leave a gift in your Will

3. It’s well known that giving helps you feel good (we are sure you have experienced this) and the same can be said for leaving a gift in your Will

4. In fact, people that leave gifts to charities in their Will often live longer

5. Giving a gift in your Will is an opportunity for you to pass on your legacy, it can be a reflection of your lifetime and support charities that were there for you and your loved ones

6. You decide which charities mean the most to you

7. Many charities also offer the chance for you to be remembered and acknowledged for your generous contribution

8. You can help shape the future of causes you feel passionate about

9. You also pay no inheritance tax on gifts made to charities through your Will which means that your donation can do much more

10. Charities warmly receive any donation, large or small. If you let them know you are leaving a gift in your Will, they can provide you with examples of how your support will help their work live on.
