What we do
The Leprosy Mission is an international Christian development organisation, transforming and empowering the lives of people affected by leprosy. Our goal is to eradicate the causes and consequences of this disease. TLM provides a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of people, families and communities affected by leprosy.
As well as integrating leprosy and general medical services, where there is a need, TLM hospitals and health centres continue to provide excellence in all aspects of specialized leprosy care, often being referral centres for complications of leprosy. However, people affected by leprosy need more than medicine.
TLM programmes deliver compassion and action. While we do identify and assist people to a cure and treat physical impairments through reconstructive surgery, we also invest in education, vocational training, counselling and community based socio-economic rehabilitation activities.
Gifts in Wills
Thanks to so many faithful supporters, legacy gifts are making a life changing difference to thousands of lives today. The Leprosy Mission is doing so much more than curing leprosy. Counsellors are working to challenge stigma and heal communities. Vocational training centres and small business loans are bringing livelihoods to those who are denied employment. Our holistic care is also providing safe housing, clean water and sanitation to families living in poverty. Rehabilitation projects are providing a hope for the future and empowering those affected by leprosy.
