What we do
L’Arche-French for ‘The Ark’ is an international federation of 140 communities across 35 countries. L’Arche Belfast provides supported living and Day Opportunities services for adults with learning disabilities within the context of a loving and supportive community.
We now provide supported living accommodation to 14 adults with Learning Disabilities and have recently expanded our service to include a Day Opportunities Service called the “L’Arche Village”. At L’Arche Village we offer work project placements to over 80 people with and without learning disabilities each week.
The L’Arche Village now includes a vegetable garden with two polytunnels and a greenhouse, a chicken run, a sensory garden, a training kitchen, a woodworking shop, an art studio, a music room, four multi-purpose rooms, and offices for our work project staff.
L’Arche believes that persons with learning disabilities have something unique to offer to the people around them that has the potential to transform our society.
