What we do
Every week in Northern Ireland, three more children or young people are diagnosed with cancer, leaving three more families to cope with a level of devastation that is almost impossible to comprehend. Cancer Fund for Children understands the impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt. Our services include one-to-one and group support; therapeutic short breaks for the whole family; support for siblings; bereavement support; and our Young Shoulders Programme for children whose parent has cancer.
Gifts in Wills
A gift in your will could help us to ensure that more children can avail of therapeutic group activities at Narnia Log Cabin in Newcastle, where they can come together with other young people who are living with cancer to share experiences and gain strength from each other. It could help us to provide one-to-one support to a young person whose parent or carer has cancer, to help them cope with the huge impact this has on their life. Or it could provide short breaks for families at Daisy Lodge, our therapeutic respite centre in Newcastle, Co Down, giving families the opportunity to spend quality time together away from hospitals and treatment regimes.
Put simply, your gift will make a direct and measurable impact on our work. Even a small gift can make a big difference to a family. A larger gift will be a lasting legacy and we would be happy to discuss what could be achieved.
You can write your Will for free with Will to Give and Bequeathed and leave a gift to Cancer Fund for Children.
