What We Do
Evora Hospice, formerly Southern Area Hospice Service, provides the highest standard of palliative care to the people of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Area. We have been providing palliative care services for 35 years in the counties of Armagh, Down and Tyrone.
Our hospice has a multidisciplinary team that provides medical and nursing care, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counselling, emotional and spiritual care, and alternative therapies such as reflexology and art therapy.
Evora Hospice relies heavily on the generosity of local people and the support of our volunteers who help staff deliver services in many ways, from patient care to fundraising.
The services provided here at Evora Hospice are all provided free of charge, which means that fundraising is crucial in enabling us to care for patients and families. This year, we must raise £4 million to continue to offer the highest quality palliative care. That’s the equivalent of £335,000 each month, £77,000 each week, £11,000 every day or £460 every hour.
